This policy explains what personal information sistinechapel.co collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: we run no advertising, set no marketing cookies, and only hold the details you send us yourself.
Who we are
Sistine Chapel Guide is an independent editorial project publishing visitor information about the Sistine Chapel. The data controller is the site's editorial team, contactable at privacy@sistinechapel.co.
What we collect
- Messages you send. If you use the contact form or email us, we hold your name, email address and message so we can reply.
- Basic analytics. We record aggregated page views, referrers and country using a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not set advertising cookies or build individual profiles.
- Server logs. Our host records IP addresses and request details for security and troubleshooting, deleted automatically after 30 days.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share personal data, run advertising networks, use behavioural tracking pixels, or add anyone to a mailing list without an explicit request.
Cookies
The site sets no marketing or profiling cookies. Fonts and the Bootstrap stylesheet are loaded from third-party content delivery networks (Google Fonts and jsDelivr), which receive your IP address as part of that request. No cookie banner is shown because no consent-requiring cookies are set.
Legal basis and retention
We process contact messages on the basis of legitimate interest in answering reader enquiries, and keep them for up to 24 months. Analytics data is aggregated and retained for 26 months. Server logs are kept for 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing, and you may object to processing. Email privacy@sistinechapel.co and we will respond within one calendar month. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
